John 9:22-24

²² His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders,^[a] since the Jewish leaders^[b] had already agreed that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus^[c] was the Messiah^[d] would be thrown out of the synagogue. ²³ That’s why his parents said, “He is of age. Ask him.”

²⁴ The Jewish leaders^[e] summoned the man who had been blind a second time and told him, “Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner.”
